The Thyroid Workplace Toolkit

The Thyroid Workplace Toolkit

Picture
Workplace Thyroid Toolkit
Thyroid conditions remain one of the most misunderstood long-term health conditions in the workplace.

An estimated 1 in 20 people will experience a thyroid condition. Many continue working while managing symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, weight fluctuations, and concentration difficulties — often silently.

Over the past year, the Workplace Thyroid Toolkit developed by the Business School, University of Aberdeen in collaboration with The Thyroid Trust has been downloaded 700+ times by:

• Employees living with thyroid conditions
• Managers and HR professionals
• Occupational health practitioners
• Organisations looking to improve workplace support

People want better conversations about health at work, and organisations want practical guidance on how to support staff effectively.

What has been especially encouraging is hearing from individuals who said the toolkit helped them:
  • start conversations with managers
  • better understand workplace adjustments
  • feel more confident discussing their condition at work
An app based version is being developed and your feedback will help us:
  • improve future versions of the toolkit
  • understand how organisations are using it
  • strengthen the evidence base around workplace support for thyroid conditions
You can find the links to the feedback survey and to the Toolkit itself through the buttons on this page.
