Thyroid health awareness

We want more people to talk about thyroid health.  These short videos are designed for sharing.

For World Thyroid Day 2021, we are grateful that Dr Catherine Millington-Sanders and her colleague Ralph Engelhard have put together this new thyroid awareness video for us!

Please watch and share our awareness videos

Dr Catherine regularly appears on ITV's Loose Women and is an experienced clinician with a demonstrated history of working in health, social care and corporate industry. She is RCGP & Marie Curie National End of Life Care Clinical Champion and clinically led the development of the RCGP & Marie Curie Daffodil Standards and RCGP South London Education Lead. Catherine is Clinical Lead for the Social Enterprise Difficult Conversations. She is a practicing GP, clinical commissioner, educationalist and independent consultant. Catherine co-chairs the RCGP & Partners Think Tank that supported development of ‘What Matters Most’ resources and RCGP COVID resource hub.  Catherine supports Public Health approach to developing Compassionate Communities, implementing the Compassionate City Charter and facilitating the development of compassionate neighbourhoods and supportive networks within our communities.  We are grateful for her support!

Let's Talk... Our first awareness film

Our very good friends, Sam and Alex of Mayflower Films, kindly attended our September 2018 event, with speaker, Consultant Endocrine Surgeon, and Trustee of The Thyroid Trust, Mr Fausto Palazzo, who was giving a talk about The Evolution of Thyroid Surgery, at St Pancras Community Association.  They filmed Fausto's talk, which you can now view here and they also made the above short promotional film for us.

The aim of these videos is to help raise awareness of thyroid disease, to encourage anyone experiencing symptoms to see their doctor, give a flavour of one of our events and share some of the common experiences of people living with a thyroid disorder.

We hope you will enjoy watching them both. Please share widely.

With huge thanks to Mayflower Films, Dr Catherine and Ralph!

See our Youtube channel , TTT24Q Interviews and Information Videos page to watch more Thyroid Trust films.

And don't miss our fun fondant thyroid workshop video and patient story video released by artist Vicky Roden on World Thyroid Day 2021

for everyone affected by thyroid disease
