We are currently particularly looking for stories from anyone who has experienced difficulties accessing the specialist thyroid drug, liothyronine / T3 as we have been asked to contribute to a patient dossier for Lord O'Shaughnessy, following the House of Lords debate on 20th June 2018, to assist him to address the issues of some doctors and CCGs not following NHS Guidelines.
We have heard that some patients who were stable on this medicine for a number of years have had it withdrawn because of the cost leading to them becoming unwell, in some cases. While many of these patients have had their medication reinstated, many are still being refused it.
If this is you - please tell us - or one of the other thyroid patient organisations. We are working hard to resolve the situation.
We are also interested in any other stories you would like to share - read more about why we are collecting thyroid patient stories here.
