2019 Summer Seaside Walk!

Saturday 17th August 2019

Thank you to everyone who joined us, or supported us, on our Seaside Walk from Broadstairs to Ramsgate...

If you'd like to make a donation to you still can! On Just Giving.

The walk was just over 5K along the beautiful Kent coast from Viking Bay in Broadstairs to Ramsgate Harbour . We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the Royal Harbour Brasserie afterwards.

See the Gallery for photos of this and our previous social events including our first Seaside Walk in 2017, when The Thyroid Trust was still in it's early planning stages.

As we have only recently completed our charity registration this was our first ever fundraising event and we felt it was important to emphasise that it was primarily a social day out, with fundraising entirely optional, so we have been particularly thrilled with all the support we've received.

Find our more about the area on the Visit Thanet website.  Broadstairs has seven sandy bays and Ramsgate has the country's only Royal Harbour.

We promoted this event on a Facebook event page to help spread the word!

We are delighted to announce that Alex Clegg, from Sense About Science, very kindly came on our walk with us. Alex leads the Ask for Evidence campaign at Sense about Science, which encourages members of the public to request the evidence behind new science stories, marketing claims and policies.

He was great company and was happy to chat, about the campaign and how we can get involved, as we enjoyed the walk together.

What a nice way to share information, on a glorious stroll by the sea. Thank you Alex!

for everyone affected by thyroid disease
