Take part in the #TalkThyroid Fundraising Campaign!

There are many ways you can fundraise as part of the #TalkThyroid Campaign during World Thyroid Day (25th May) and International Thyroid Awareness Week (25th to 31st May).

It is completely up to you as to how you fundraise during the campaign. You can plan a large fundraising activity with many elements or you can simply donate. You do what you feel comfortable doing!

Some #TalkThyroid fundraising Campaign activity ideas!

As the thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland, or is sometimes described as being shield shaped, you might even like to include a butterfly or shield theme to add a bit of fun! Using the #TalkThyroid hashtag on social media will also amplify our collective voices and help everyone with a thyroid condition to feel less alone.
You can also fundraise by:
  • Arranging a talk for a donation, asking your company to donate or having a collection between friends
  • Organising a get together, hosting a picnic, bake sale, lunch, tea party or special event
  • Undertake a fundraising challenge, like your own butterfly run, walk or bike ride

Don't forget to tell us what you hope to do for the #TalkThyroid campaign here.

Some #TalkThyroid Key messaging!

The #TalkThyroid Campaign provides an opportunity to raise awareness of thyroid disease, educate or learn from others and even fundraise while doing so.

So often people say that no-one can understand thyroid disease unless they have it themselves and of course not everyone experiences a thyroid condition in the same way. Many people have struggled with their thyroid condition, sometimes more than they've realised, when they've been unwell. For some, thyroid disease is easily managed while others really struggle. Both physical and mental health symptoms can be so varied and wide ranging, It can be very hard.

That's an important message and we want people to share it.
