You can go as small or as large as you like for the #TalkThyroid Campaign including introducing a fundraising element if you wish. Whatever you choose to do, we are grateful that you are part of the #TalkThyroid Campaign. Your involvement in this campaign will raise awareness of thyroid disease, help educate others and support those struggling with thyroid conditions. See what others have said they're going to do and 'Leave a Reply' below to tell The Thyroid Trust and everyone who visits our website what you are undertaking during the campaign week, 25th - 31st May 2022. Your activity can just be a conversation, or more.... We realise that you might decide to change your plans of course but share with us whatever you are aiming for at this point. You can even send a follow up comment if you come up with a further idea of something else you'd like to. Please note, any comments not related to our campaign, or which could be deemed harmful, will be removed. By leaving your comment below you are confirming that you are happy for it to be published on this website and on The Thyroid Trust public social media channels (using your first name only to protect your privacy). We want to inspire as many people as possible to get involved with the #TalkThyroid campaign, by sharing lots of examples of actions that different people choose to undertake during the 25th to 31st May 2022. By choosing to #TalkThyroid you are helping raise awareness of thyroid disease and if fundraising, you will enable the Thyroid Trust to continue to be a strong voice for thyroid patients in the future. Thank you for your support! Tell us what you're going to do to #TalkThyroid in 2022 below

I'm going to hold a thyroid friends walk and picnic in Broadstairs on the Kent coast on 25th May, World Thyroid Day and I might even dress up as a giant butterfly again! Because the thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland which should be much more widely talked about and better understood. I'll also make this event a fundraiser for The Thyroid Trust

During Thyroid awareness week, I will post a note in my local parents and neighbourhood groups to invite people with, or supporting a friend or family member with, thyroid disease to meet for talking and walking in a nearby park.

To write how a typical thyroid day feels for me and share this on social media for friends and family to read, and perhaps understand.

To share all that I have learnt. To continue to advocate for the health of others and myself. To remove any stigma attached to discussing hormones that are just our natural building blocks. To educate the professionals so they can do better by us.

I pledge to write to the BMJ to tell them of my difficult thyroid journey. I will continue to tweet and retweet thyroid associated articles and messages of interest aimed at raising awareness of thyroid issues.
