#MoreToHealth statement

More To Health statement signatories
The Thyroid Trust and our friends at Thyroid UK are cosignatories to an important statement by the voluntary sector that has been issued this morning calling for a more sophisticated and meaningful debate on health in the UK.
The statement sets out the need to broaden the debate on health and recognise the importance of communities. We are thrilled that 61 charities and social enterprises are making this call together.
It has been published on Medium this morning https://medium.com/…/the-nhs-is-essential-but-good-health-d….
PoliticsHome have covered the story https://www.politicshome.com/…/excl-top-health-charities-wa…
We are using the hashtag #MoreToHealth to amplify the statement. The key messages are:
The NHS is essential, but good health is about so much more.
Health is made good or bad within the neighbourhoods and communities we live.
Life expectancy gains have stalled, and we are living more years in bad health.
We need:
1) Health in all policies,
2) Collaboration across parties and departments,
3) Time for domestic policy agendas, including public health,
4) Urgent investment into communities,
5) A comprehensive settlement for social care

If you support the statement please share using the hashtag #MoreToHealth. Let's make as much noise as possible to support the voice of the voluntary sector in calling for a more sophisticated and meaningful health debate in the UK. Thank you so much if you can support this activity.
